Aadhaar update app : Aadhaar can be updated from home, a new app is coming; know the full details

Aadhaar update app: Currently, updating Aadhaar information is a bit difficult. You can only change your address online. To update other details, you’ll need to visit an Aadhaar service center. However, updating Aadhaar is about to become much easier.

The government is developing a mobile app, e-Aadhaar, for Aadhaar users. UIDAI (Unique Identification Authority of India) is responsible for developing it. This app will significantly simplify many of the challenges faced by Aadhaar users.

What is e-Aadhaar?

The new e-Aadhaar mobile app will allow users to update key information such as their name, address, and date of birth directly from their smartphone. This aims to reduce the need for in-person visits to enrollment centers. The application will utilize AI and Face ID technology, providing secure and seamless digital Aadhaar services to users across India.

Biometric Update Process

Starting in November, users will only need to visit an enrollment center for biometric authentication (fingerprint and iris scanning). This initiative by UIDAI aims to simplify the update process. This will reduce paperwork and the risk of identity fraud. The entire Aadhaar update process will be faster and more convenient.

Additional Document Support

The new app will automatically pull user data from approved government sources. This will include birth certificates, PAN cards, passports, driving licenses, PDS ration cards, and MNREGA records. Electricity bill information may also be included to simplify address verification.

When will the new app be launched?

The new Aadhaar app is not yet fully ready. However, it is planned to be launched by the end of this year. This app will provide a simple and quick process through a user-friendly digital interface. This will significantly reduce the need to visit an Aadhaar service center.

Aadhaar Good Governance Portal

The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) has launched the Aadhaar Good Governance Portal. It aims to facilitate faster and easier processing of Aadhaar authentication requests. This platform will help improve service efficiency and ensure a seamless user experience.
