1161 teachers of government schools of Jharkhand have not taken online training yet. The School Education and Literacy Department has expressed strong displeasure over this and has issued a show cause notice to the concerned teachers and sought clarification on this. The teachers have been asked to reply by May 25. If the answer is not satisfactory, departmental action will be initiated against these teachers. Jharkhand Educational Research and Training Council has given instructions to DEO-DSE of Ranchi, Lohardaga, Khunti, Gumla and Simdega districts in this regard.

From April 1, all the teachers of classes 1st to 8th in the respective five districts of South Chotanagpur were instructed to do 24 hours of online training through J-Guruji app. Due to unsatisfactory progress, Ranchi, Lohardaga, Khunti, Gumla and Simdega districts were given 7 days extra time. Despite this, 1161 teachers have not completed the online course till now. This includes the highest number of 417 teachers from Ranchi, 293 from Gumla, 164 from Simdega, 160 from Khunti and 127 from Lohardaga.

Response to the notice has to be given by 25 May
JCERT Director Shashi Ranjan said that despite the extension of the date for online training, the training was not completed by the working teachers. This conduct proves arbitrariness and is a symbol of disregard of the departmental order. He has directed the DEO-DSE of these districts to take clarification from the teachers who have not completed the online training by the extended period and take action as per the departmental provision and inform JCERT. Clarification must be obtained from such teachers by 25 May.
