Out of this, the names of 4500 beneficiaries have been deleted from the ration card so far.
Verification of 2 lakh dead beneficiaries pending
The verification process of the list of dead beneficiaries is still going on. So far, the names of about 2 lakh dead beneficiaries in Jharkhand have not been verified. At present, only the names of about 50 thousand dead beneficiaries could be removed after verification. The number of dead beneficiaries in the capital Ranchi is 21,171. Lifting of 10 lakh kg ration per month in the name of dead beneficiaries
5 kg food grains per member are provided to the eligible beneficiaries of Grihastha Yojana. These beneficiaries are being provided free food grains since January 2023. If we calculate with this figure, then even now about 10 lakh kg ration is being lifted every month in the name of 2 lakh dead beneficiaries.
