Ration Card: If you are taking advantage of government ration or any scheme, then complete this work by June 30. The government has made it mandatory for all ration card holders to do e-KYC i.e. e-Know Your Customer. Its last date is now 30 June 2025. That is, now only four days are left. If you do not get e-KYC done by this date, then your ration card may be cancelled. Also, cheap or free ration will stop being available.
Why is e-KYC of ration card necessary?
The government’s aim is to make the ration distribution process transparent and corruption free. It has been seen many times that some people take advantage of ration with fake ration cards or despite being ineligible. In some cases, ration is taken in the name of a person even after his death.
To prevent all these irregularities, the government has started the e-KYC process. Under this process, the identity of the ration card holder and his family members is linked to the Aadhaar card, so that it can be ensured that only genuine and needy people get the benefit.
Earlier it was 31 March, now the deadline has been extended
Earlier the government had set the last date for e-KYC as 31 March 2025, but many people faced problems due to technical difficulties and lack of information. Therefore, now the date has been extended to 30 June 2025.
