From May 1, there have been major changes in LPG cylinder prices, ATM withdrawal charges, railway ticket rules, fuel rates, and banking services. Let’s know which rules have changed from ATM to LPG and how it will affect you.
2. Changes in ATF, CNG and PNG rates
Oil companies also change the prices of aviation fuel i.e. Air Turbine Fuel (ATF), as well as CNG and PNG on the 1st of every month. If the prices of ATF increase, air travel will become expensive, while the increase in CNG-PNG prices will affect consumers using domestic gas.
3. ATM transactions will become more expensive
From May 1, 2025, the charges for withdrawing money from an ATM outside the bank (Interbank ATM) will increase. Now, instead of Rs 17, each transaction will cost Rs 19. If you check your balance at an ATM of another bank, you will be charged Rs 7 (previously Rs 6). According to HDFC Bank, transactions after the free transaction limit will cost Rs 23 + GST instead of Rs 21 + GST. PNB and IndusInd Bank ATMs will also charge Rs 23 for withdrawing money.
4. New conditions for booking railway tickets
From May 1, waiting tickets will be valid only in general coaches. This means that you will not be able to travel in sleeper coaches on waiting tickets. Along with this, the advance booking period has been reduced from 120 days to 60 days.
5. ‘One State-One RRB’ scheme implemented
The ‘One State, One RRB’ (Regional Rural Bank) scheme will be implemented in 11 states of the country from May 1. In this, all the RRB banks of each state will be merged to form one big bank. This will provide customers with more facilities, unified services and ease in banking processes. This scheme will be implemented in Uttar Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and other states.
