8th pay commission latest update: Central employees have been waiting for the formation of the 8th Central Pay Commission since January. Now an important information has been given to the House by the Central Government in this regard. Actually, during the monsoon session of Parliament, 3 questions related to the formation of the 8th Central Pay Commission were asked by MP Sagarika Ghosh in the Rajya Sabha. Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Chaudhary has answered these questions in writing.
What did the Union Minister say
On a question about the date of issuance of the official notification approving the formation of the Pay Commission, Pankaj Chaudhary said- The government has decided to constitute the 8th Central Pay Commission (CPC). Suggestions have been sought from major stakeholders. Its official notification will be issued in due course.
Talking about the progress so far, he said that suggestions have been sought from major stakeholders including the Ministry of Defense, Ministry of Home Affairs, Department of Personnel and Training and the States. He said that the Commission will give its recommendations within the time frame prescribed in the Terms of Reference (TOR).
Formed every 10 years

When is it likely to be implemented
The recommendations of the new i.e. 8th Pay Commission can be implemented by mid-2026. This commission can increase the salary on the basis of the fitment factor. If this happens, there will be a big increase in the salary of central employees.
