New Delhi. If you book train tickets from IRCTC, then this news is very important for you. Railways have made major changes regarding Tatkal ticket booking. Railway spokesperson Dilip Kumar said that now only those passengers will be able to book Tatkal tickets whose IRCTC account will be linked and verified with Aadhaar.

From July 1, 2025, Tatkal tickets can be booked only from Aadhaar verified accounts. OTP based system will be implemented at the time of booking from July 15. The ticket will be generated only when the OTP received on your Aadhaar linked mobile number is entered into the system.

The same OTP verification system will be implemented at the ticket window (PR counters) as well. OTP will be sent to the Aadhaar linked mobile number while purchasing the ticket from the counter.

If you want to know how to link IRCTC account with Aadhaar then you are at the right place. We are telling you through step by step pictures how you can link your Aadhaar number to your IRCTC account.

First open the IRCTC website and log in by entering your username and password. Click on the “My Account” option in your profile or account section.

Another rule of Tatkal ticket booking has been changed. If booking of AC class starts at 10 AM, then no agent will be able to book tickets for the first 30 minutes (i.e. from 10:00 to 10:30). This time will be only for general passengers.

Earlier this time was only for 10 minutes. Similarly, in the non AC class booking which starts at 11 am, the time from 11:00 to 11:30 will be reserved only for individual passengers. Agents will not be able to book tickets during this time.
