Monsoon is playing hide and seek in Jharkhand’s capital Ranchi today. Sometimes it is sunny and sometimes it is raining in Ranchi. Although there is light drizzle intermittently, the highest rainfall of 110 mm was recorded in Ranchi’s Kanke area. The monsoon’s tremendous havoc was seen here. The same situation has been seen in districts like Jamshedpur, Bokaro, Palamu, Garhwa, Ramgarh and Khunti.

Monsoon trough is currently passing over Jharkhand. A low pressure is also formed in the Bay of Bengal, which is about 6.8 km above Jharkhand. The effect of both of these will be seen in the southern and central districts of the state today. Orange alert has been issued in some districts and yellow alert in some.

Orange alert issued in southern districts
Orange alert has been issued in Gumla, Simdega and West Singhbhum today. Heavy rain warning has been issued here. The effect of monsoon will be seen here. Yellow alert has been issued for Ranchi, Khunti, West Singhbhum, Saraikela Kharsawan, Palamu and Garhwa. There is a warning of heavy rain in these districts. Ranchi Meteorological Department scientist Abhishek Anand said that farmers should be careful about their crops, there is a possibility of crop destruction due to heavy rain.
Record breaking rain occurred in these districts
Some districts of the state have received more rain than required. For example, Ranchi has received 642 mm of rain, East Singhbhum has received 650 mm of rain, Simdega, Saraikela Kharsawan and Khunti have received more than 450 mm of rain. On the other hand, Deoghar has received 20% less rain than normal. Godda, Pakur and Sahibganj have also received 27% less rain.
