The Jharkhand government has decided to give a big relief to the farmers of the state. Now when farmers sell paddy to the government, they will not get the money in installments but in lump sum i.e. the entire payment will be made at once.
Now farmers will benefit
Earlier, farmers used to get money in two installments, due to which they had to wait for a long time and face financial difficulties. To make the process of paddy procurement easier, the state government has formed a three-member committee. Which will soon implement the new system.
Let us tell you that till now there was delay in payment to farmers due to the complexity of rules, but now the government is preparing to pay the entire amount directly in one installment. The State Food Corporation and Food Supply Department have taken this step in view of the demand of the farmers.
This decision will benefit the most those farmers who run their yearly expenses by selling paddy. According to the news, about 17 lakh metric tonnes of paddy was procured in 2022-23, but it was much less than the target. The situation did not change much even in the subsequent years.
Many farmers do not want to sell paddy to the government
At the same time, experts believe that due to non-payment on time, many farmers did not want to sell paddy to the government. Now the government wants the farmers to trust the government system again, so a plan has been prepared to implement the lump sum payment scheme soon.
The biggest thing is that the team of the central government has also given the green signal to this new initiative of the state government, due to which it is expected that this time the target of paddy purchase will be achieved and the confidence of the farmers will also increase. This new system will not only provide economic strength to the farmers. But the image of the Jharkhand government will also be strengthened as a farmer-friendly one.
