ICICI Bank gave a big shock to its customers, increased fees on ATM and cash withdrawal or deposit

ICICI Bank: The country’s private sector bank ICICI Bank has given a big shock to its customers. The bank has increased the charges levied on using ATM and withdrawing or depositing cash from the branch. This has started to loosen the pockets of the customers.

ICICI Bank: If you have an account in private sector ICICI Bank, then be careful immediately. The bank has started loosening the pockets of the customers. Earlier the bank had given a big shock to the customers on the minimum balance. After this, now again a big shock has been given to the customers. Actually, the bank has increased many service charges for its new savings account holders. This change has come into effect from 1 August 2025.

These increased service charges are directly affecting many banking services including using ATM, depositing or withdrawing cash in the branch, minimum balance requirement. In such a situation, if you are a customer of ICICI Bank, then it is important to understand these new rules carefully so that unnecessary extra charges can be avoided.

Charges increased on depositing and withdrawing cash
According to the news published in Economic Times, the bank has imposed new limits and charges on depositing and withdrawing cash in the branch or through Cash Recycler Machine (CRM). You can do cash transactions for free three times every month from ICICI Bank. After this, Rs 150 will be charged on every transaction. At the same time, there will be no charge for depositing or withdrawing up to Rs 1 lakh in cash in a month.

After exceeding this limit, a charge of Rs 3.5 or Rs 150 (whichever is higher) will be levied on every Rs 1,000. If both the free limit (in terms of number) and value limit (in terms of amount) are exceeded in a transaction, the bank will charge the higher amount. The limit for third party deposit or withdrawal (i.e. depositing/withdrawing cash in someone else’s account) has been increased to Rs 25,000 per transaction.

Fees increased for using ATM
New charges have been imposed on services like cash withdrawal and balance enquiry from ATM. Non-ICICI Bank ATMs (in Metro cities) – 3 free transactions (including both financial and non-financial) have been provided in Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Kolkata, Bangalore and Hyderabad. After this, a charge of Rs 23 has been imposed on every financial transaction and Rs 8.5 on every non-financial transaction.

At other locations – 5 free transactions are provided. After this, charges will be levied. On the other hand, Rs 125 + 3.5% currency conversion charge will be levied on every withdrawal for using ATM abroad. Rs 25 per transaction has been charged on non-financial transactions.

Transactions from ICICI Bank ATM

5 financial transactions per month have been made free on ICICI Bank’s own ATM. After this, Rs 23 has been levied on every financial transaction. However, non-financial services like balance inquiry, mini statement and PIN change have been made free.

Cash deposit charges

If you deposit cash after bank working hours between 4:30 pm to 9 am or on a bank holiday and this amount is more than Rs 10,000 (in one or more transactions), then you will have to pay an extra charge of Rs 50 per transaction. This charge will be separate from the cash transaction charge.

Other service charges

1 – For making a demand draft (DD) from the bank, Rs 2 will be charged for every Rs 1,000, minimum Rs 50 and maximum Rs 15,000.

2 – The annual fee for debit card has been increased to Rs 300. Whereas in rural areas it has been made Rs 150.

3 – Replacement card fee has been increased to Rs 300.

4 – SMS alert service

15 paise will be charged for every SMS, maximum up to Rs 100 in a quarter.

5 – RTGS (from branch) – Rs 20 will be charged for transactions between Rs 2 lakh and Rs

5 lakh, Rs 45 will be charged for transactions above Rs 5 lakh.

6 – NEFT and IMPS (online) – Made free.

7 – Branch transaction charge

Rs 2.25 for up to Rs 10,000, Rs 4.75 for Rs 10,001 to 1 lakh, Rs 14.75 for Rs 1 lakh to 2 lakh, and Rs 24.75 for Rs 2 lakh to 10 lakh.

Green statement charge

Rs 100 will be charged for getting monthly statement from branch or phone banking. It is free if taken from ATM, iMobile or internet banking.
