Jharkhand Weather: The weather in Jharkhand has changed again today. The Meteorological Department has issued an alert of light to moderate rain in Ranchi, Bokaro, Dhanbad and heavy rain in Palamu. The rain will continue in the state for the next few days.
Monsoon is once again showing its colours in Jharkhand. According to the Meteorological Department, the monsoon has once again gained strength due to the effect of the low pressure area formed in the Bay of Bengal. Today, light to moderate rain is expected in districts like Ranchi, Bokaro, Dhanbad, and East Singhbhum. Strong winds (30-40 km/h) and thunderstorms may also occur in some areas.
Clouds have been present since morning
The sky has been covered with clouds since morning and the maximum temperature in Ranchi is expected to be around 30 degrees Celsius while the minimum temperature is expected to be around 22 degrees Celsius. The humidity level in the air will be 60-80%, due to which the feeling of humidity can be a bit disturbing. But rain showers can provide relief from the heat.

- Ranchi: The sky will be partly cloudy today with light rain. Temperature between 22-30 degrees Celsius.
- Bokaro and Dhanbad: Possibility of moderate rain with thunderstorms. Wind speed up to 30 km/hr.
- Pakur and Sahibganj: Alert for heavy rain, possibility of waterlogging.
- Palamu and Garhwa: Rain with strong winds, advice to be cautious of thunderstorms.
40% more rain in Jharkhand
This year, the monsoon arrived early in Jharkhand and entered the state between June 3-5. So far, from June 1 to August 12, the state has recorded 877.8 mm of rain, which is 31% more than the normal 688.6 mm. Especially 66% more rain in Ranchi and 91% more rain in East Singhbhum has brought smiles on the faces of farmers.
The rain will continue till August 22
According to IMD, the monsoon will remain active from 19 to 22 August. According to the latest forecast of IMD, the monsoon will become more active after August 21. There is a possibility of heavy rain in Ranchi, Jamshedpur, and Dumka till August 22. Apart from this, there is a possibility of heavy rain in districts like Garhwa, Palamu, and Latehar, for which a yellow alert has been issued. The low pressure areas continuously forming in the Bay of Bengal have further strengthened the monsoon, due to which heavy rain will continue in the next few days.
