Jharkhand Weather Update: Monsoon rain wreaked havoc in Jharkhand, Ranchi’s Torpa bridge collapsed, 14 trains canceled, IMD red alert

Jharkhand Weather update: 6 districts of Jharkhand including Ranchi are receiving continuous heavy rainfall for the last 48 hours. Due to this heavy rain, 1 express and 14 MEMU trains have been cancelled. Along with this, news of bridges breaking at many places is coming to the fore.

With the onset of monsoon in Jharkhand, there has been chaos. Heavy rain has been pouring non-stop for the last 48 hours in 6 districts. Due to floods in the rivers, Torpa bridge of Ranchi has broken into two parts. On the other hand, regarding this heavy rain, Senior DCM of Chakradharpur Railway Division Aditya Chaudhary said that 15 trains have been cancelled for today. These trains are going to run on routes from Tata to Chakradharpur, Chaibasa, Rourkela etc. On the other hand, the rain is still continuing.

At the same time, due to torrential rains, the Swarnarekha and Kharkai rivers have reached the spate. Along with this, the district administration has issued an alert for the areas along the river. While traffic has also been disrupted due to damage to an under-construction bridge in Adki area of ​​​​Khunti. Along with this, the NDRF team has reached due to heavy rains. Due to this torrential rain, people have been imprisoned in their homes.

Schools and colleges closed

In view of heavy rains, orders have been given to close all the schools in Ranchi. Some colleges have also been said to remain closed. Red alert is issued in Ranchi today and more than 90 mm of rain is expected. In such a situation, it has become difficult for people to walk due to waterlogging and this rain has been continuing for the last two days.

Record breaking rain in Chaibasa

In the last 24 hours, an average of 118.93 mm of rain fell in the West Singhbhum Chaibasa district. The highest rainfall of 238.8 mm fell in the Bandgaon block of the district. Along with this, the rain is still continuing.

Ramgarh’s cremation ground submerged in water

The water level of Damodar and Bhairavi rivers is continuously rising in Ramgarh. At the same time, the Tantrik Ghat and Shamshan Ghat adjacent to the Damodar river have been submerged in rain water. While the water of Bhairavi river has reached the lower part of the stairs of the VIP gate of Rajrappa temple. However, there is no danger yet.

Red alert in 6 districts

A red alert has been issued for heavy rains in Ranchi, Hazaribagh, Koderma, Giridih, Ramgarh and Bokaro. These districts have been receiving torrential rains for the last 24 hours. In such a situation, people have been asked to remain alert. The Ranchi Meteorological Department has advised people not to step out of their homes unless necessary.

Yellow alert in 5 districts

Yellow alert has been issued for heavy rain in Sahibganj, Pakur, Godda, Chatra and Dumka. It may rain 10-12 times at short intervals during the day and strong storms may also occur. People of these districts have been warned to remain alert.

There will be normal rain in these districts

Normal rain may occur in other districts. There will be light rain throughout the day and sunshine will also appear in between. Especially in Palamu, East and West Singhbhum, Simdega, Saraikela Kharsawan and Gumla, the weather will be normal and light rain may occur at some places.

Know the temperature of these districts

In Deoghar, Dhanbad, Dumka, Giridih, Godda, Jamtara, Pakur and Sahibganj the maximum was 28, minimum was 24 degrees. Whereas in Koderma, Chatra, Garhwa, Latehar, Lohardaga, Palamu the maximum was 27, minimum was 24 degrees. Whereas in Bokaro, Ramgarh, Hazaribagh, Ranchi, Khunti, Gumla the maximum was 22, minimum was 25 degrees. Whereas in East and West Singhbhum, Saraikela Kharsawan, Simdega the maximum was 27, minimum was 26 degrees.
